Step-by-Step Configurations for Messenger Chatbot Module<\/strong><\/p>\n

Phase – Facebook App Creation<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Go to https:\/\/developers.facebook.com\/<\/a> from your web browser and Click on Login<\/strong> link.<\/p>\n

2. Click on \u201cLog in with Facebook<\/strong>\u201d button, then login with your facebook account by providing a valid User ID and Password<\/em>.<\/p>\n

3. You will get a page like below, click on \u201cMy Apps<\/strong>\u201d link.<\/p>\n

4. Now you need to create a new Facebook App<\/strong>. Click on \u201cCreate App<\/strong>\u201d button to proceed.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

5. While you are at \u201cCreate an App<\/strong>\u201d screen, \u201cBusiness<\/strong>\u201d will appear in left timeline, then click on \u201cNext<\/strong>\u201d button. You will be redirected to \u201cUse Cases<\/strong>\u201d field.<\/p>\n

6. Select \u201cOthers<\/strong>\u201d from \u201cUse Cases<\/strong>\u201d phase, then click on \u201cNext<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

7. From \u201cType<\/strong>\u201d selection, select \u201cBusiness<\/strong>\u201d and click on \u201cNext<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

8. In \u201cApp Details<\/strong>\u201d screen, put your app name inside \u201cAdd an app name<\/strong>\u201d field. Make sure that the App Name is exactly the same as the Page name for which you are creating the app<\/strong>. Then put your contact email address inside \u201cApp contact email<\/strong>\u201d field. Next click on \u201cCreate App<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n

Your new Facebook App will be created and you will get an APP ID like below. Click on \u201cApp Settings –><\/strong> Basic<\/strong>\u201d to set basic configurations for your newly created app.<\/p>\n

9. Under \u201cBasic Settings<\/strong>\u201d – set your \u201cApp Domain(s)<\/strong>\u201d, \u201cPrivacy Policy URL<\/strong>\u201d, \u201cTerms of Service URL<\/strong>\u201d. Then pick a suitable \u201cCategory<\/strong>\u201d. Then click on \u201cSave Settings<\/strong>\u201d buttons.<\/p>\n

At this point, fields and buttons will look like below –<\/p>\n

10. From basic settings you will find your \u201cApp ID<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cApp Secret<\/strong>\u201d. Copy these data, you will require to put these in \u201cFacebook App ID<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cFacebook App Secret<\/strong>\u201d of Messenger Module Configurations.<\/p>\n

Copy the App ID & App Secret and add it to the \u201cWP Dashboard –> Bot – Messenger<\/strong>\u201d page.<\/p>\n

Phase – Adding and Configuring products in the App.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will need to add \u201cFacebook Login\u201d, \u201cMessenger\u201d and \u201cWebhooks\u201d products with your created app.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Product 1 – \u201cFacebook Login for Business\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

11. Click on \u201cDashboard<\/strong>\u201d menu from the left side, navigate to \u201cAdd products to your app<\/strong>\u201d section. Then find \u201cFacebook Login for Business<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

a) Click on \u201cFacebook Login for Business –><\/strong> Quick Start<\/strong>\u201d menu from the left side panel\/meu-bar. Then click on WWW<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Next set your SITE URL<\/strong> in \u201cTell us what the URL of your site is.\u201d Section and click SAVE<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

b) Click on \u201cFacebook Login for Business –><\/strong> Settings<\/strong>\u201d menu from the left side panel. Add a Valid OAuth Redirect URIs. You need to copy the redirect URL from \u201cWP Dashboard –> Bot – Messenger<\/strong>\u201d page. As shown below.<\/p>\n

Finally click on \u201cSave Changes<\/strong>\u201d button to save your settings.<\/p>\n

Product 2 – \u201cMessenger\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

12. You need to add Messenger product from \u201cDashaboard –><\/strong> Add product<\/strong>\u201d page. Just click on the \u201cSetup<\/strong>\u201d button for Messenger product.<\/p>\n

After that you have to setup the Webhook<\/strong> for messenger.<\/p>\n

a) Go to \u201cMessenger –><\/strong> Messenger API settings<\/strong>\u201d from the left menu. Then navigate to \u201cConfigure webhooks<\/strong>\u201d section. Click on \u201cConfigure<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n

b) Copy \u201cCallback URL WoowBot<\/strong>\u201d and \u201cFacebook Verify Token<\/strong>\u201d from \u201cWP Dashboard –> Bot – Messenger<\/strong>\u201d page. Please note, verify token can be any random string. Then paste inside messenger product settings like below –<\/p>\n

Click on \u201cVerify and Save<\/strong>\u201d button to save the settings.<\/p>\n

Product 3 – \u201cWebhooks\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

13. You need to add Webhooks product from \u201cDashaboard –><\/strong> Add product<\/strong>\u201d page. Just click on the \u201cSetup<\/strong>\u201d button for Messenger product. [Skip this step if there is already an Webhook menu in the left side. It might be added during configuring Webhooks for Messenger.<\/em>]<\/p>\n

a) While selecting PAGE<\/strong> at the top, subscribe to all the events started with the below texts –<\/p>\n

b) While selecting USER<\/strong> at the top, subscribe to<\/p>\n

feed<\/strong><\/p>\n

14. Now connect your facebook page with the Module as below –<\/p>\n

Click on \u201cLogin with Facebook<\/strong>\u201d button and follow the instruction from the later screens.<\/p>\n

If you provide user credentials and select the app with respective page(s) properly, then your page(s) will be linked with the Module. Follow the images above for more clear ideas about linking a facebook page with the Module.<\/p>\n

[Note:<\/strong> Please use the same facebook account that you used to create the App for avoiding any complexities related to page linking.]<\/p>\n

15. Put the app in \u201cLive Mode<\/strong>\u201d to activate the created App.<\/p>\n

16. Add menu items to your \u201cActive Menu<\/strong>\u201d parts of \u201cDashaboard –><\/strong> Bot – Messenger –><\/strong>\u00a0FB Menu Setup<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

FB App Permissions<\/strong><\/p>\n

Permissions provide a way for your app to access data from Facebook.<\/p>\n

The following permission is needed for the Facebook App to work with Chatbot.<\/p>\n

pages_read_engagement<\/p>\n

pages_manage_engagement<\/p>\n

pages_manage_metadata<\/p>\n

pages_messaging<\/p>\n

Broadcast<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Messenger Platform\u2019s Broadcast API allows you to broadcast a message to everyone that currently has an open conversation with your Page. The broadcast message is displayed on the Page inbox only when a user replies in a thread.<\/p>\n

Permission<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cpages_messaging\u201d permission is needed to send broadcast.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Rate Limits<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rate limits are in place to prevent malicious behavior and poor user experiences.<\/p>\n

The per day rate limit is equal to 200 * the number of people the business can message via Messenger.<\/p>\n

For pages with large audiences, we recommend a send rate of 250 requests per second.<\/p>\n

#Page Comments AUTO REPLY:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Navigate to \u201cBot – Messenger –><\/strong> Manage FB Pages<\/strong>\u201d menu. Then select \u201cManage Posts Reply<\/strong>\u201d link.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. Click on \u201cReload Posts<\/strong>\u201d (for the 1st<\/sup> time only, to load all the posts. Later use this button to sync posts only).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. You will get a list of the posts from your linked page\/page(s).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. Click on \u201cEdit<\/strong>\u201d button on any specific post, during mouseover of the post title.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          1. \u201cEnable Private Reply<\/strong>\u201d option if you want to reply privately to the commentor in line with comment reply.<\/li>\n
          2. \u201cEnable Comment Reply<\/strong>\u201d option if you want to reply the commentor in his\/her comment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            1. When a user makes a reply to your post, this Module will automatically post a response as per your settings. It will look like below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              App Page<\/strong>
              \nTo associate your Facebook Page with your app. Your app’s name must be in the Page’s name, and the Page’s category must be set to App Page. This is required to enable the Handover Protocol<\/strong><\/p>\n
